Fats Waller estava tocando em um clube noturno, quando percebeu a movimentação nas mesas. Um homem enorme estava procurando um lugar para se sentar. Fats parou de tocar e disse: “Eu toco piano, mas Deus está aqui.” Levantou-se e convidou o homem que acabara de entrar, Art Tatum, a subir no palco assumir o piano. O presente álbum é uma coletânea de gravações feitas entre 1938 e 1946 e nos traz mais um pouco da arte desse genial pianista.
